I will be giving beers marks out of five:
1 – Avoid like the plague
1.5 – Give it a miss
2 – Not recommended
2.5 – Potential pint
3 – Worth a shot
3.5 – Give it a try
4 – Recommended
4.5 – Highly recommended
5 – Essential try
I will not be breaking things down into the standard rating categories (i.e. aroma, appearance, taste and palate), mainly because some beers are pretty much completely nondescript in some categories, or pretty much identical to many beers of the same style. The overall mark will just be a guide as to how highly I rate the beer overall, in terms of its style.
